The entire BAM organisation is in a state of transition. With its OneBAM strategic objective, BAM Group IT is realising broad and international IT platforms and solutions together with our business. As technology is rapidly taking over the construction world, BAM wants to lead the way. In this digital transition; 'Doing new things' is one of the slogans on our strategic agenda. A professional IT organisation is crucial to achieving this goal. Group IT plays a key role in this and is therefore rapidly developing and professionalising.

Group IT provides the entire BAM organisation with IT services from a continuously expanding perspective. Application Services is part of Digital Information Management and playing a key role in the OneBAM strategy. Application Services is focusing on rationalising the application portfolio as well as innovating the business with digital solutions in close cooperation with the business. To be able to deliver rapidly, reliable and to be able to be agile, BAM is introducing a new agile way of working amongst its Application Services teams. 

This new way of working will be gradually implemented at Application Services (AS) in Bunnik, The Netherlands. BAM Bouw en Vastgoed Nederland is looking for a Unit Manager Application Services to lead the DevOps teams in Bunnik. As a Unit Manager AS you will have an important role in the transformation towards a more scrum/agile way of working. We have made a start, but you will lead this transformation. An important part of the responsibility of the Unit Manager is driving Agile and make it work within the unit and the company. This means setting a strong vision and mission of why agility is important for the organisation. Help the organisation see the control and discipline that is needed to be agile. Actively drive the journey of continuous improvement, self-improvement, adaptability, feedback. And remove operational impediments that prevent agile teams from working optimally.

As Unit Manager AS you are hierarchical responsible for the team members, approximately 15-20 FTE. AS teams are self-organising teams working with Scrum or Kanban methodology. Teams are organised towards Business Value Streams or Corporate Functions. Teams consist of Application Consultants and Business Analysts, being responsible for realisation, implementation and (end user) support of critical business applications and digital platforms.

As a Unit Manager Application Services, you will play an important role in personal and professional development of team members as well as flawless delivery of application services, in order to deliver high quality, agile, predictable an cost efficient application services. You inspire and support the team in the use of new and innovative technology.

Wie zoeken wij?

As a Unit Manager Application Service you have:

  • A Master degree;
  • 10 to 15 years of working experience;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in managing teams with IT professionals;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Agile way of working;
  • Strong written and oral expressions skills primarily in Dutch, but also in English.

As a Unit Manager Application Services you are people oriented, focused on interpersonal relations and strong in communications. You are extremely focused on customer value, result driven, pro-active and strong in cooperation. Of course, managing change is part of your toolset and you are therefore environmentally sensitive. You are naturally connecting and building strong relationships with others, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.

Encouraging others to share the spotlight and visibly celebrating and supporting the success of the team.
Of course, you are experienced in application development and application support processes and use of innovative technology like RAD, RPA, IoT, AI, ML, 3D modelling. In addition, you have strong written and oral expression skills, primarily in Dutch, but also in English, since teams will work more and more globally in the near future. International travel can be required. Place of employment is The Netherlands (Bunnik).
